Also known as ESSEN BREAD
Grains are a storehouse of vitamins, minerals, fatty acids, carbohydrates, proteins and enzymes, for thousands of years, people have been soaking and sprouting their grain.
This is a natural process which improves the nutritional benefits and makes the bread easier to digest by turning the grain into vegetable matter and removing the enzyme inhibitors.
At Hambleton Bakery this fermentation process takes four days, after which the sprouted grain contains increased levels of nutrients. It is then dried and gently milled at a low temperature to retain the integrity of the grain as well as the maximum level of enzymes, vitamins and minerals.
The resulting flour, using traditional methods, is then made into the most delicious, guilt free and healthy bread.
Ingredients: Sprouted Grain, Pure Sea Salt, Water
Slow food with a great taste - No processed yeast (wild yeast) - No sugar & no additives – Long fermentation - Elevated protein levels & nutrient dense - High in B vitamins (B2, B5, B6) & vitamin C - Easy to digest – enzyme inhibitors in grain are neutralised during the natural sprouting process - Reduced anti nutrients, the body digests a greater amount of good nutrients - High fibre & low GI – the bread is digested more slowly which keeps blood sugar levels stable, reducing the desire to snack - More carotene & enzymes than other breads
